A relentless gentle drizzle (Scotch mist) made worse by the leaves of the trees aggregating it and turning it into plonking showers at each and every little breeze.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_500\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-500\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-500 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-5.jpg\" alt=\"Water droplets on red grass seedheads.\" width=\"750\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-5.jpg 750w, https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-5-300x78.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-500\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Droplets on the grass seeds and stems because the rain was too gentle to dislodge them. The droplets only grew to run off and then regrow again.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Yesterday though, it was dry with the grass waving in the sunny breezes and the mumbling background sound of the commentary at the Forgandenny horse trials wafting across the valley.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s amazing that it takes less than twenty minutes to walk the dog from my city back door to a hill top like this where I can sprawl in the sun on the grass.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_505\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-505\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-505 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-7.jpg\" alt=\"Lying in the long grass, waving in the breeze, in the sunshine.\" width=\"750\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-7.jpg 750w, https:\/\/stooryduster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/wet-dog-walk-landscapes-1-7-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-505\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The feet of me lazing in the sunshine in the long grass which was waving gently in the breeze, the hills in the distance and the sound of the commentary from the Forgandenny horse trials across the valley barely heard.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And because it was dry and hot the dog walk became a picnic with a flask of tea, soft rolls filled with honey roast ham, cheese, sliced tomato, loads of black pepper and salad cream. Accompanied by a hopeful looking dog. He got dog biscuits and a doggy sausage. Terriers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When I come out of the woods onto the hill up here the views along the river make me question why I go on holiday to other parts of the UK. The landscape here is just magnificent. The old ford used to be just to the right of the railway bridge.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But today it rained, so I made the effort to photograph today&#8217;s wet grass to contrast with yesterdays dry grass. And wet whins too.
